Every time I think of the Maharashtra Nature Park, I think of GREEN! It is so green that the colour green has probably taken the ‘green’ from it. I happened to be there twice and it was drizzling on both the occasions (what else was I expecting in monsoon anyway.. well.. heavy showers). The first time I visited the place was with my super scared sister, very thrilled buddy, a photo-enthusiast friend and random photographers (some real, some wannabe). As we entered the park with cameras and umbrellas we were given some instructions about various species of insects, butterflies, other beings and most importantly SNAKES. And even now while typing I have chills in my spine with a thought of that creepy crawly creature. Unfortunately the entire excitement went in vain as it is gone now (it was probably my sister’s curse) we could not encounter any snake! But what we come across was nothing less than heavenly, it was a sight of purity, pleasure, immense happiness- it was nature at its best!
We walked through the lush green wet grass and muddy water (felt the blades topped with mosquitoes and tinny-tiny insects) and ended our little jungle adventure. We saw all colours present in the entire universe in the form of butterflies, eavesdropped beetles & crickets, scared people to death by pointing to random directions with little movement telling them a snake just crawled away, froze some memorable sights in our cameras and clicked our way out of the scene.
